Highway 75 Road Work
The Nebraska Department of Roads is in the process of widening Highway 75 from the Platte River bridges south through Avenue B in Plattsmouth. About four miles of Highway 75 will be reconstructed to freeway and expressway standards, including a new interchange at Bay Road. Due to construction both north and south of the Platte River, traffic will be head-to-head from Platteview Road to Plattsmouth. An overview of the project can be found in an August 2011 news release from NDOR. Hawkins Construction Company is the contractor on this project.
Avenue B Closing Until Summer 2012
Avenue B will be closed between US-75 and North 22nd Street into the summer while it is being reconstructed. This section of Avenue B is east of US-75. Detours have been marked; North 15th Street and 1st Avenue are recommended as alternatives.
Bay Road Intersection
Beginning Saturday, May 19, at 8:00 am, a traffic signal will be activated at the intersection of Highway 75 and Bay Road. This is necessary for the construction of the US-75 and Bay Road interchange. It will be in place until spring 2014.
